Dr. Jochen Schröder (born 1971) studied electrical engineering at the Hamburg University of Technology and obtained his doctorate in control technology in 2001.
From 2001, he worked at BMW AG in the field of transmission development. In 2006, he assumed the position of Head of Electronics at the BMW-Sauber Formula 1 team and from 2009, he was Head of System Design and Advance Development E-Drive at BMW AG and in the joint venture BMW-Peugeot-Citroën Electrification. Further management positions within BMW AG followed in the years 2013 to 2016.
From 2016, Dr. Jochen Schröder was CTO at Valeo-Siemens eAutomotive, where he was responsible for the company’s global research and development activities.
He joined Schaeffler in 2018 and took over the position of President of the E-Mobility business division. He and his team played an essential role in the establishment of the division and the company’s transformation towards e-mobility.
As part of the merger of Vitesco Technologies Group AG into Schaeffler AG, which is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2024, Dr. Jochen Schröder will be responsible for Schaeffler’s Europe region as Regional CEO Europe.
